The Austrian artist Stefan Reiterer transfers digital maps and satellite images into analogue physical space using abstract and figurative painting. He manipulates data from Google Earth, NASA, and other sources, transforming it into illusory topologies and pseudo-cartographies that challenge our perception. What is recognized, discovered, rejected? Where is the viewer’s location? With texts by Wilko Austermann, Andrea Kopranovic, Diethard Leopold, and Clemens J. Setz, this richly illustrated book accompanies and documents Reiterer’s 2025 exhibition at the Museum gegenstandsfreier Kunst in Otterndorf.
